Shofer Educational Consulting specializes in residential placement

Shofer Educational Consulting specializes in residential placement for families with adolescents or young adults (ages 13-25)  with academic learning differences or issues requiring therapeutic placement.

I assist parents in exploring a full range of alternative options that are safe and supportive when it is no longer feasible for a struggling child to remain at home.

Residential Placement for Academic and Therapeutic Needs

When considering a therapeutic placement, it is essential to match the student with the therapist and the group that is the best fit for the particular needs and age of the student.

In specialty boarding school placements, it is essential to match a student to an academic program that fits their individual needs. It is also important to have teachers who are trained in teaching students with language-based learning differences.

For adolescents there are boarding schools, as well as programs that address each students unique educational or therapeutic needs.

For young adults there are programs that address treatment, independent living, career guidance and /or education.

These schools and programs allow the student to learn new coping skills, develop new insights and let go of old behaviors
